When we were 14, in a world where we could be anything we wanted to be, we wanted to be Paul Weller. He is the spokesman of a generation that found solace in the direct, identifiable personal lyrics in his songs about the pains and pleasures of growing up. He has grown and matured with his fans – a natural evolution – moving through time together. Even though the political and angry lyrics have made way for a more reflective vibe, the fire is not out, the edge is still evident, the music is still grounded in the present, and there is no reason to stop. Now, many years later, we want to be Paul Weller even more than before.

Paul Weller smashed into the music scene in the late 1970s as the frontman of the iconic The Jam and in the 1980s with The Style Council. He cemented himself as a force to be reckoned with, with his first eponymous solo album, released in 1992, also becoming a prominent figure in the mod revival. He is rated as one of the most revered songwriters and performers of the last 30 years and has received four Brit Awards, as well as the 2006 Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

It is undeniable: Paul Weller’s music speaks to the people. Everybody has something Paul Weller that they admire, like, and hold on to – from the heartfelt “Broken Bones” and country soul of “Mayfly” to the chunky rock power drive of Nova and the chiming mid-60s guitar and brooding late 60s bluesiness of “Changing Man”; from the gutsy, rocking “Jumble-Queen”, to the keep-on-trucking rhythm of “Cosmic Fringes”. There’s no flab, no excess, no time-wasting – just pure energy and enthusiasm.

Paul Weller has a track record of selling out in record time, playing rapturously received sets, and showcasing immaculate overall musicality. The songs are full of hope and optimism, but firmly rooted in the realities of modern life.

The landmark 1,800-seat Moore Theatre, plain on the outside and dashing on the inside, regularly hosts some of the finest musical and theatrical acts from around the world, and this time is no different – Paul Weller is better now than ever and is about to inspire and wow Seattle!
