It’s not every day that one of the best Persian music duos makes their way to Seattle. That’s actually ironic because the brothers have been living in LA for a while! Kamran and Hooman are embarking on their Evolution Tour; one of the stops is at the Moore Theater in Seattle on Friday, November 22nd. The Tehran-born brothers are going to be singing in both English and Persian, with very traditional beats from their home country mixed with pop sounds from the 90s until today. It’s going to be a night to sing and dance to traditional Persian music in a way that Seattle just doesn’t get a chance to do all that often.

The road to the top of Persian music has been quite an interesting one for Kamran and Hooman. Although they were born in Iran, the family moved to Canada very early in their lives. The fact that they remained “in contact” with their roots not only the Persian language but the music, is a testament to the strong family bond. This “connection” to the West, though, allowed the brothers to dream about being in entertainment in a way that may not have been possible had they remained in Iran. One of them actually wanted to be an engineer at one point. Thankfully, the love of music brought them together, and the rest, as they say, is history!
This mixture of cultures is one that’s present in their music. That’s not only because they do have a few songs in English. Where you can see their multicultural heritage is more in the beats that they feature in their songs. Many of them are very traditional Persian songs. There are certain elements to this music that are unique and seemingly hard to replicate; at the same time, though, even their outfits and vocals have more Western influences than what you’ll typically find in a more “local” Persian band. In fact, that Western touch was one of the elements that had some skeptics thinking that they weren’t going to be able to make a name for themselves in Persian music. That was a wrong idea by all accounts. The fact that they got picked up by Roc Nation to go on this Evolution Tour of the States shows they may very well be the most popular act in the genre! There aren’t too many Persian music singers headlining shows at the Moore Theater.
One of the biggest surprises of this event with Kamran and Hooman is that the entire Moore Theater will be made available. Plus, the show will take place on Friday night, which is the best night of the week to come out with your significant other or friends.
