The music of legendary Frank Zappa is alive, all thanks to his equally talented son, Dweezil! The guitar prodigy who stepped in his father’s footsteps will pay homage to some of his most notable work this 2024. Experience Zappa’s groundbreaking 1974 albums Roxy & Elsewhere and Apostrophe – both highly acclaimed efforts made waves on the U.S. charts. In addition, Apostrophe peaked at number 10, becoming Zappa’s highest charting effort of his career. The album also notably sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S., earning gold status.

Apostrophe spawned several notable singles, including “Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow.” The single was the first Frank Zappa single to enter the Billboard Hot 100. The album proceeded to become Zappa’s most commercially successful studio work. Meanwhile, six months after the release of Apostrophe, Zappa dropped his follow-up album, Roxy & Elsewhere. The double live effort is a collaboration between Frank Zappa and his band, The Mothers of Invention. The effort was recorded in 1973 at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles and the Edinboro State College, hence the title “Roxy & Elsewhere.” The effort features highly acclaimed live performances of “Penguin in Bondage,” “Dummy Up,” “Village of the Sum,” and “Cheepnis,” among others.
