Founded by MacArthur "Genius Grant" award-winner, tap dancer, performer, choreographer, teacher and artistic director Michelle Dorrance, Dorrance Dance is an award-winning tap dance company based in New York City. With roots in improvisation, the company looks to push the boundaries of tap dance and is dedicated to exploration and expression via choreography and musicianship. Dorrance Dance has been running since 2011, and has become a renowned name global for its innovative take on tap dance that draws from a legacy of tradition – pushing the limits, whilst acknowledging and celebrating what's come before.
