Hey Seattle, Hey there all you Cowboys and Junkies! My Sweet Jane, do we have a tour for you! If you’ve been feeling like a Misguided Angel ever since the last time this band came into town, praying and Dreaming under a Blue Moon hoping they would come back to our stage after a three years Moore hiatus - your prayers have been answered! Because the Cowboy Junkies are back and ready to give us their all!
You heard that right, you West Coast Warriors! Celebrating 40 years of music and smooth guitar jams that have been the soundtrack of all our midnight drives - The Cowboy Junkies are going on tour this summer, hitting the Moore Theatre, and we wanted to make sure to personally invite you to the party!
On Wednesday, June 25th, catch the crew right here as they return to the Moore Theatre on their 40th Anniversary Tour, slated to be the best time and the best vibes ever! Tickets are on sale NOW and starting at $61 for the performance. And with no openers scheduled for the show - it’ll just be us and an evening with the Cowboy to ourselves. Get your tickets today, and let’s get ready to have the best time ever!
All of us here at The Moore Theatre - and we’re sure all of the Cowboys out there in general - are so excited to welcome The Cowboy Junkies to the stage as they take on the country’s backroads one more time for their 40th Anniversary Tour, hitting twelve dates across The States from April to June. The four decade anniversary tour will see the group go to Revolution Hall in Portland, two nights in Charlottesville Virginia, and three dates spread all over Washington State - hitting Moore Theatre right here in Seattle on June 25th to begin the statewide showcase.
The Cowboy Junkies have been making music for all of their outlaw fans since 1985, and technically are Canadian, but have a sound that’s so American folky and oh so Country. Formed in Toronto, three of the four members are actually siblings - Margo Timmins on the lead vocals, Peter Timmins on drums, Michael Timmins on lead guitar, and Alan Anton on bass guitar. They recorded their first album in their garage, and the debut album titled Whites Off Earth Now!! cemented their blue rock and psychedelic sounds for the masses. By the time their second album The Trinity Season had released, they began to get widespread recognition - grabbing tours and headlining spots across America, and named by The L.A. Times as one of the 10 best albums of 1988. Now, forty years on and still the best of friends and bandmates, the crew is ready to remind us of why they’ve had long-lasting staying power up until this point.
Speaking on the band and how they’ve been able to stick together like glue and sell out shows like it’s no big deal, Mike Timmins recently gave an interview telling it all. “We’ve never really stopped touring. Our shows are made up of two sets - the first set is a short set that we focus on new things in our catalogue and the songs we are excited about, that being Such Ferocious Beauty on this tour, and whatever else we are excited about. And the second set being the catalogue set and that’s when we go through a lot of songs everyone knows and what people can remember us for,” Mike said. “And as far as new music goes - yeah me and Pete were actually just at the studio yesterday working on some new material. It takes awhile for us to get new things going these days, but there is a new album always being made in the background,”.
WOAH - two sets, a new album?!? This is just too much for us to process… we’re really so excited for it all. The band is now on super hero legend status, and we’re just down to enjoy the ride!
Make sure to get your tickets today - before it’s too late, and let’s enjoy the show! See you all soon!
