Brett Goldstein is a British actor, comedian, and writer. He rose to prominence when he took the role of Roy Kent in the award-winning sports comedy series Ted Lasso. Goldstein played the part of an angry and aging footballer. His performance earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy. Golstein initially joined the show as a writer but he was later casted for the role of Roy Kent.
In 2012, he joined the cast of Derek, a tv series starring, written, and directed by Ricky Gervais. He played the role of Tom and appeared in 11 episodes from 2012 to 2014. In 2020, he collaborated with Black Mirror writer Will Bridges. Together they created and wrote a six-episode science fiction anthology series called Soulmates for AMC. Besides TV series, Goldstein has also appeared in feature films like Thor: Love and Thunder. It is rumored that he will appear in an upcoming Marvel movie as Hercules.
Aside from winning two Emmys, Golstein’s other notable achievements include the FilmQuest Awards for Best Actor and Best Screenplay (shared with Will Bridges and Jon Drever) in 2015 for a romantic comedy called SuperBob. In 2016, he won the BIFA award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the comedy film Adult Life Skills.
