Moore Theatre - WA
One of the modern masters of the saxophone in contemporary jazz music, Ravi Coltrane, is going to be taking the stage at the Moore Theater in Seattle on Wednesday, February 26th. Ravi plays a wide range of instruments, and he's usually accompanied by other performers to hit the crowd with smooth tracks that will help them get through the last week of February.
On this particular night in Seattle, he'll be joined on stage by Brandee Younger, who's arguably the best harpist in the country. This duo will be playing tracks that hit close to home for Ravi. His mother, Alice, was a harpist, and she's one of Brandee Younger's confessed idols. This component certainly adds a layer of raw emotion to what was already an intriguing night to begin with. Ravi Coltrane is the heir to a long lineage of jazz musicians. His father John, or Trane, Coltrane was one of the pioneers in jazz music through the 50s and 60s. When your dad is venerated as a literal saint by a church due to his contributions to music, you know you've got some major shoes to fill! It's been Ravi who's truly taken up the family mantle in the music business, turning into arguably the most influential saxophone player of the modern era. There's always an air of nostalgia in these shows, and that's mainly due to the fact that Ravi can tell stories about some of the songs that he's playing on stage that were written by his father. These small history lessons tend to pair perfectly with a jazz night.
The show's taking place on a Wednesday night, February 26th to be exact. There aren't too many events that work better on a week night, but this is one of them. Picture yourself in the crowd at the Moore Theater with your date hand in hand while you sip on some of the locally brewed coffee that they sell at the concession stand. It's a very "Seattle thing" that people in other towns wouldn't even understand. Apart from the vibe that these performers are going to bring to the stage, you'll know that you're seeing two of the best performers in the genre playing all-time great hits. If you're a fan of jazz music, you might find yourself in awe of what's taking place on the stage come Wednesday, February 26th.
You have the entire Moore Theater to pick your seat! It could be a great night to sit in the second level and just take everything in while you sit back and relax. There's of course always that extra appeal of being close to the stage, near the performers. It truly doesn't matter much how you want to enjoy this night. The key is actually that you make it out to the Moore Theatre and have a chill time. Click the get tickets button now to make sure that's the case.
