Phantogram

The staff at the Moore Theater do a great job of bringing events of all sorts to the venue. They certainly struck gold when they were able to book this show by duo Phantogram. The thing is, even with all the variety that comes to the Pacific Northwest, you're not going to find an event that's even similar to this all year! Phantogram is taking its Running Through Colors tour to the Moore Theater on Friday, February 21st.

On top of the fact that they're teasing at providing an incredible visual experience, the duo also has new music to share with fans. They'll be promoting their latest album, Memory of a Day, on this tour as well. It's usually a good idea to catch up on new tracks from your favorite artists before you watch them live. There might be something extra in this experience, though, if you're hearing these songs for the first time. Anyway, that's just a thought. One of the most overused phrases when talking about concerts is saying an event is not only a concert but an entire experience. In reality, not every single performer has the ability to take things over the top. When talking about these Phantogram live shows, though, the cliché fits. It's perfectly fair to say that their shows are an experience that goes beyond the music. That's especially the case with the show that they're mounting as part of their Running Through Colors Tour. The name gives you a clear idea of what the band intends to do. They'll be playing some of their more popular tracks, like "Black Out Days" and "When I'm Small." When they do, though, the entire Moore Theater is going to light up with a bunch of different colors.

Phantogram concerts, even before this tour, rely heavily on the visual concepts that they're presenting. Their light usage on stage is one of the best in the industry. This list can include any DJ under the sun that you can think of. With this Running Through Colors tour, the band aims to explore even more visual concepts. Hopefully, some will deviate from the blue and orange tones that are heavily featured in the promos. There's no question that these visuals take the night to another level. Then again, there aren't too many performers with Sarah Barthel's voice tone that works perfectly with this blend of rock and electronic music. Anyway, you look at it, Phantogram's stop in Seattle promises to be a one-of-a-kind event.

There are actually no spots available in the pit area next to the stage for this event. That seems to be by design from the band. Sure, it's always "special" to be up close and personal at any show. On this occasion, however, you could be missing out on the visual aspect of the experience that makes it more intriguing than a regular concert night at the Moore Theater. Ideally, you'll be able to find a spot in the middle of the room in an elevated position. That's where you'll have the best view of the entire event.
