Zoe was formed in 1994, they were faced with a lack of venues to perform their music when they were starting out, they had to rely on their own self organized concerts, the internet and a self-published demo. They gained their recognition through a good deal of positive word of mouth. They then gained their popularity on Spanish radio stations that were airing in the United States.
Their debut album titled “Zoe” was released in 2000. This attracted the attention of Sony Music, but unfortunately that fell through. They went on to release their second album in 2003 titled “Rocanlover” with songs like “Peace and love” and “Veneno”. During this time the group was still yet to find their niche, when they look back at this period of their career they refer to it as their ‘Experimental Phase’.
In 2008, Zoe released “Reptilectric”. The album was instantly a hit, sitting at the number 1 position on the Mexican charts and selling over 80 thousand copies worldwide. The songs “Nada” and “Poli” both have over twenty million streams on Spotify. If you would like to listen to "Nada" then have a look at the link below. They have received multiple awards and Grammys such as Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album for their album “Aztlán”, Best Rock Song for their song "Labios Rotos" and in 2011 they were awarded Best Alternative Music Album for MTV Unplugged/Música de Fondo.
They have been a band for over 20 years now and they are still going strong due to their love and passion for making music that makes them all feel good.
